or how about drop cords in strategic locations...
This is what I did in my garage for power to items that were not on the workbench and plugged into wall receptacles. I bought a 12 gauge, 50 foot long, retractable cord reel, and mounted it on the ceiling in the center of the garage. This is plugged into a duplex receptacle up in the ceiling, which is on its own circuit.
This has provided me with power for chop saws, lights, my mig welder, angle grinders, and all kinds of stuff that I have to use that is too far away from the work bench to be plugged in there. It can even reach out the garage doors so that I can plug in vacuum cleaners, polishers and other stuff for vehicle cleaning.
And when I am done using it, it retracts back up into the reel so it is out of the way, ready to be used again.
