First time posting here on GJ as I’m a newbie. Not sure exactly how this site works yet but hope to get the hang of it soon as I could really use everyone’s help with some projects I’m taking on.
My first project is restoring some vintage bench vises I recently purchased. I’m setting up a small workshop area in my basement and decided it was time to shop around for a vise. I quickly learned that if I wanted something of good quality, vintage American made was the way to go.
I have lots of questions and could use some good advice and tips/tricks to getting these the way I want them.
First question would be where should I post my vise questions?

First off, welcome to the forum. This is a great place to be, with a lot of very knowledgeable members.

There are a couple of sub-forums here that are appropriate for discussing your vise. The General Tools and the Vintage Tools is probably where you should start, depending on the age of the vise.

Also, you ought to change your Location to something more specific, because the answers you get might vary depending on the state or country you are in. This is literally a global forum.
