Hello all! I've been a lurker on here for a few years, but I've finally embarked on a custom home build and need to get some feedback and ideas for that. I've purchased 5 acres in Prescott, AZ and plan to have a 60x40 building erected in addition to a house with an attached garage. But that's a story for another thread...
I'm currently renting a house in Gilbert, AZ and doing the best I can to pack tools into a 1.5 car tract home garage. I moved here in 2015 and just had a truck stolen from my apartment complex in 2012, so I promised myself that I'd always be able to park inside. I've managed to just barely squeeze a working garage out of the remaining space, but it's not very fun and there's not much room for ongoing projects. I do all my vehicle work (I've got a 13 Tacoma with a bunch of bolt-on mods and an 04 W163 Benz as well as the girlfriend's 08 Prius) and dabble in simple wood and metal fabrication projects. I'd like to get into offroad fab and maybe some more serious furniture projects when I have a bit more room and confidence in my own skills. I'd also like to help my dad resto-mod his 69 AMX and find me a first or second gen LS400 to mess around with.
I did at least get the landlord's blessing to install an additional dedicated 20A/120V outlet for the compressor and a 50A/240V for the welder (specified 14-50 outlet so it could be converted to an electric car charger later). Finally, you'll have to excuse my janky welding table! I tried to roll it to the backyard last week and the frail little casters were (obviously) not up to the task. But having it, my welder, and my little flip-top miter saw cart on wheels has been essential to using this space.
