Hi all.
I was just web browsing today about a project that I wanted to start for few years now. And I'm finally putting things to action.
To introduce my self.
My name is Peter Park and I've been auto mechanic for about 14 years started at a local chevrolet dealer and now I've been out of job due to having my first child back in March, from there I've been watching my kid when my wife works and when she's home I'll be working out of my one car garage. Now back to the project that I wanted to start for years.
That is building my own garage, big enough to fit three cars(I do not know the dementions) oh and of course lifts. I'm thinking two. one just regular lift and the other one for alignment machine. I know that I can't not afford to do all these at once but I want to make the room for it for later on in life.
But for now I need to know the legal steps I need to take.
I didn't tell you that I am running a mobile shop with my trailer. Yeah I've been doing this for my side jobs, but now it kinda grew in to my only job and I just need to have a shop where I do the heavy duty jobs.
So, about the legal steps that I need to take.
I don't know where to start asking questions and to who.
That's why I'm here asking.
Well.
Hope I didn't bored you guys with my story but any helpful comment will be greatly appriciated.
and I enjoyed looking at the pictures of garages. thanks.
good day ya'll.

Welcome to GJ, and good luck with your project.

I would start by checking city / county zoning rules and laws, some are very restrictive about allowing the type of 'commercial' work you want to do in resedential neighborhoods.

A building like yours will probably cost a pretty penny, you may look at renting a space, preferably one with some good visibilty to attract traffic.
