for my first post I'd like to ask you all about making a smoke machine to find vacuum leaks. my idea is to get sealed vessel add a hose, then put some warm water and dry ice inside and seal it .plug the hose into the vehicles vacuum system and watch for leaks. any ideas

I don't think dry ice would work, friend. Smoke machines use mineral oil and a glow plug to create the smoke. They use a regulator similar to a propane regulator to get around 2 psi pressure to flow the smoke with either shop air, CO2, or Argon/CO2.

I've seen home brew smoke machines made out of a paint can on eBay all set up and ready to go for 100ish bucks.
