Help me solve a mystery .. please.

Hi guys. New to the board, but have a feeling I'll be hanging around and learning lots and posting a good bit too.

Anyone have any idea what the items in the attached pictures are? I received these in a bunch of old tools and supplies from a relative who passed. I have no clue what these would be and can't seem to find any answers, even from the all mighty and knowing, Google. LOL

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How thick are they? Could be lathe parting cutters.

Scarifier or ripper teeth maybe?

Measurements are 1/4" x 1/4" x 2 1/4"

I'm not a farmer but I'd bet a dollar to a donut that those go in farm machinery.

SW: they do look like cutters so finding the tool they go in to might be the challenge.

welcome to our group. we might not know everything, but we as a group know quite a bit.

any other cool tools to show us while we are waiting for the guy that knows what you found and posted?

I do have some cool older tools I got in the mass of stuff, but not photos yet. I'll grab some soon and post them up. I'm sure I'll have more pictures to come, of things I'm not recognizing. I have a pretty good understanding and knowledge of tools, so most of it .. I've actually been able to figure out. Even some of the older stuff that has shocked a few people, that I (at 36) know what it is. LOL

Oh, I dunno........some poor gent (not knowing any better) using a belt sander to strip a tool box and getting shellacked? On and on, but it's all good.

This "poor gent" also needs experience doing brake jobs. Are you volunteering any of your vehicles for him to learn on...lol?

No. Certainly not. BUT, at least he's trying and not sitting on his a$$ doing nothing. Personally, I give a little respect for that alone.

This is a total hijack, sorry. He needs to put more effort into finding a buddy that hopefully has a little more experience. It's great he's trying to learn but he doesn't listen to advice at all. He's going to end up hurting himself or somebody else by "thinking" he's got it under control. Yes, he is trying but sadly sometimes that just isn't enough...

Fair enough LX, point taken. But as an example, I bought the most rusted out '70 Goat I could find to restore, having done virtually none of what it needs prior. On purpose, so I could learn. I do listen when given advice though.........back to the OP, no clue what those are but I'm on the farm implement band wagon.
