Here's the situation. I am replacing an old Lennox thermostat on a heat pump with a new Honeywell. The HVAC supply sales the Honeywell is compatible and so does Honeywell tech support.
On the old thermostat, I have wires going to C, O, W1, Y1, R and G. E terminal is empty.
On the Honeywell, the conventional terminals are Y2, W2, G, W, C, Y, R and Rc with a jumper between R and Rc.
The heat pump terminals are L, E, Aux, G, O/B, C, Y, R and Rc with a jumper between R and Rc.
Which set of terminals on the Honeywell do I use?
I called Honeywell's tech line and gave them the hookup scheme on the Lennox and the model of my Honeywell, TH5200D, and they said it is compatible but wouldn't tell me anything about hooking it up. All the guy would say is "You need to have a professional HVAC contractor or technician hook it up."
I'm not paying someone $100+ to hook up 6 wires.
Any ideas?
Thanks
