Hello fellow builders. In past two months as I’ve researched the web for answers, this forum kept popping up. Limited as a non member, I joined today. My project? New 24x30 shed/garage/workshop. This is a 2 1/2” square tubing frame. Roof and walls insulated. Metal siding and roof. One roll up door, one standard door.
Single window. All on a new slab/foundation. There was a shed on the footprint of this new building which I had previously run service to. So, service is already in the building. The vertical supports are on 3’ centers, required for 150mph rating in local codes. My biggest hang ups? Mounting exterior lights to this thin metal and code compliant MC cable runs. I have the 2017 NEC, so the rules I have, it’s the experience I don’t with metal structures. Funny thing too, I was a fully licensed electrical contractor, for almost 20 years. All those years were stick built homes. So now you know my story. Now to find my answers. And thanks in advance for those answers.

Welcome to the GJ. Sounds like you are well on the way to a great set up.

May I suggest you update your location to some thing a little more specific as in future you may find that helps you when you have specific questions that affect you. Specially given the forum has a very global membership. Often you will find subjects may get different answers depending on locations and regulations.

Back yard just does not cut it.
