I am new as of today to the forum. I found the site doing a search about pole buildings. I am looking to buy my first home/first shop. I really want an affordable shop and home, combination or separate I don't care as long as it is affordable.
I live in SE Washington st, the Walla Walla area, a lot of big homes here, not a lot of affordable ones.
I am looking into the small housing stuff a lot, like tinyhouseblog.com and other such sites. Ideally I would like to build a reasonable sized shop (like 30x40 would be great! But willing to settle for less) with an apartment above. My local pole barn company was not that helpful when I asked some questions so looking for other possibilities.
I really am not sure what to do, it is so hard to get a loan to build that I really want to find a way to get it build or DIY although I really have no knowledge of building or construction. Any advice would be great! I have also looked into mini cabins for housing although that has nothing to do with a garage I just thought I would through it out there.
I have been really impressed with all the stuff I have read so far on this page you all humble me with your skill and ability, hopefully can contribute like the majority of you all do someday.
