Well it took quite a while, but I finally have my hoist installed.

Bringing it home on the trailer.

Unloading it.

Setting it up.

Assembling it.

First lift today!

I'm sooooo happy!

Since my ceiling height is only 11' 10" and the lift stands 12' 1" it was necessary to build a tunnel up between 2 trusses to accommodate the height.

While grammatically this is true, If you use the word "lift" to describe that in my neck of the woods, no one will no one will know what you're talking about. Everyone just calls it a hoist.
Guess it depends where you are.

Nope. The root meaning is to lift or raise. Especially :to raise into position by or as if by means of tackle, is the common use but not the sole use of the word.
