I've got 2 of those. One with the full length drawer and one with 2 drawers. I would suggest replacing the particle board shelves with "real" wood. My bottom shelf started to sag when I loaded it up with materials and I wanted to mount a vise on the top shelf so I bought some 3/4" plywood and cut it to fit and doubled it up to 1.5" and laminated them together with construction glue and 1.25" screws countersunk for a smooth surface. That thing is rock solid now and anything that can make the shelf sag will probably make the legs collapse first... :p

My big vise is pretty much immovable. I also put a single tube fluorescent light across the back under the top half-shelf and added a 2 outlet 4 gang box receptacle with a light switch with an 8 outlet power strip down each side so I can easily plug in any tool I need from the most convenient side.

Have fun!

Bill - can the bench be assembled without the drawer? And if so, could you be so kind as to take a couple of measurements for me? (See pic below for dimensions needed) I have two tool boxes I'd like to wedge in between the shelves. Thanks.

I just got two of those used off of Craigslist... They have one long cross-piece at the bottom, going across the back, and two short ones on the sides to stabilize the legs. They didn't come with a bottom shelf, or the pegboard back. They did come with the top shelf and full-width drawer with roller bearing drawer slides. Without the bottom shelf, I think they were meant to be used as a tall shop desk-type bench.

Keeping one--it's the perfect height for making it a game-cleaning station down in the basement. I'm going to replace the top with a piece of white cutting board plastic from McMaster-Carr.

The other one is for sale. Anyone in the Atlanta area need one? $50.

if you have the 2 toolboxes already why dont you just take the wheels off and build a quick frame for the bottom of them and then attach the wood top to the 2 toolboxes
