I had one installed in my 2 car garage which is under the bedroom. It works fine, first winter it hardly used any fuel to keep the garage at 52 degrees, which is where I keep it set when I'm not working in there.
The complaint is, it is so loud and it resonates through the house, especially loud sounding when we are trying to sleep above it. It is bolted directly to a sheep of 3/4 "plywood that is bolted to the floor joists. The garage is insulated and drywalled with 3/4".
Can I add some silicone bushings to isolate it a bit and reduce the sound transmission or hang it from threaded rods or? Any suggestions?
Thank you.
