How do you locate the Mac tool distributor in your area?

I went to Mac web site expecting to find a link which would allow me to locate the Mac tool guy in my area....no such luck.

Anyone know how to find this online or must I call Mac tomorrow?

Mac sure it making it difficult for someone wanting to buy their tools.

, I need to buy a master harmonic balancer installer set; getting tired of not having the right adapter at the worst time of a repair....

Mac seems to have the most complete installer kit I have seen so far, their part number is TP1330.

Hoping to find a Mac guy in the area with it on his truck....

i tryed to find one in my area [north ga] had a ratchet broke and my truck shop guys had some broke tools so i called trying to find a truck they told me the closet truck was in alabama and run over in ga to fort benning so good luck end up sending them in to get fixed

How far are you from Chattanooga? Mac and Matco have several trucks in that area.

matco and cornwell trucks come to shop every week and have a good sk dealer walk in store just wanted to swap mac tools without having to pay for shiping

Call there 1-800 number and a distributor will contact you directly or they will give you the number for you to contact him.

I know there is a Mac guy in the area, have seen his truck at a couple of local shops.
If all else fails, I'll call up a shop and get the phone number.

I needed some Mac ratchets rebuilt; I called them and they sent rebuild kits to me free of charge... there isn't a dealer in my area, either!
Also, the Mac rebuild kits come with a new cover plate; so everything is in the kit... all parts included! Which I thought was a nice touch!

Call some local shops in your area and ask them what day and time he usually shows up. Thats how I found the snap-on and Matco trucks in my area

They'll tell you the day, but if you ask for a specific time, they look at you funny. If you can get the shop to narrow it down to morning or afternoons, you're doing good.

I contacted Mac Tools through their website and got a delayed reply of 60 days and their reply was that they do not have a dealer in my area. I live in the metro phoenix arizona area, so this answer was not accetable and I interpreted this answer as a lack of customer support.

Finally I pounded the pavement and spoke to several different shops and found a Mac Dealer. My current dealer is quite informative and willing to order what I need.

Hope you are able to find a dealer.

Call Mac customer service this am and got the number for the local truck guy.
Nice fellow; has had this route for many years. I recall meeting him several years ago when I was in trade school.

Bought the Tp1330 kit and got the job finished.

I know that like in my area the dealer went under. Good thing I didn't pre-pay for the tool I had on order. Because he just didn't show up one week, and after a couple weeks of him not stopping by the Director of Maintenance called him and found out he went out of business.

From what I have heard from the rumor mill is that MAC has the easiest franchise to get and there isn't a whole lot of checks and balances of their new dealers...... And a few of them have been shady critters. I know that there used to be one that sold all his broken tools on e-bay for the person to trade in at other dealers..... I think he either got shut down or he just changed his ID, haven't seen him on there in a while.

Stanley has raped Mac Tools. Mac was once a good brand, but now they just distribute stanley junk. Research stanley. They are not a trustworthy company.

Resurrecting an old thread. Found this while searching for a Mac dealer. Anyway, does anyone know of a dealer close to the Linden NJ area?

I called Mac, and they say there's none in my zip code, but they can not tell me the next closest dealer. What a jerked off company.

I have a bunch of tools that I got many years ago, when I had a dealer, that need replacement under warranty. The only reason I even bought them at the time was because I had a dealer that was selling me stuff so cheap, I couldn't not buy it... lol, but would never buy their garbage again.

I would like to get my broken stuff replaced though. I wouldn't mind traveling a short distance to the dealer, rather than have him come to me, since I'm not looking to purchase, just replace.

I rather not ship them, for chance of losing them.

Here in Woodstock,N.B.,Canada,we have a Snap-on truck come every other Tuesday,between 10-10:30 am. On alternating weeks,the Mac truck comes on Thursday, about the same time. Snap-on,been the same guy for probably 15yrs,Mac just started 2yrs ago. Mac doesn't have the specialty tools,nor the selection that snappy has. There are some repackaged tools on the Mac truck. I just bought a Mac BWP151-M2 kit 2 wks ago. I have DeWalt 20v tools now,and I wanted a 1/2dr impact. I would have to order DeWalt online through a tool company,and wondered about repair,made sense to me to buy it from him. Plus I don't want another battery platform. I have the 20v DeWalt + the 12v Milwaukee,that's enough chargers for me.

I work near the airport, so there are both automotive and aircraft repair places around. I found a Snap-on guy by asking at an auto repair place, and I found a MAC guy by seeing his truck. He had an "aircraft" route, and wasn't allowed to sell into auto shops, they had a different guy and truck for those.

You could stop at a automotive repair shop and ask one of the mechanics. Both of my sons are mechanics and can tell me which days the tool trucks come by and approximate time the truck arrives.
