Like alot of the senior members have a picture that comes up on the left by their name and posts. How do you put a picture there?

You can use either a "default" avatar supplied by the board, or you can upload your avatar to a photo hosting service such as Photobucket.com. Copy and past the "Direct Link" displayed by Photobucket into the "Use a Custom Avatar" box and click OK.
If you don't have a photobucket account, you can upload the photo directly to the garagejournal photo album.
