I have recently rebuilt my workshop of 20 years and was looking for clever ideas for storing my tag ends of steel. I currently use a 5 gallon bucket in the corner and stack all my cut offs in there.
Thanks

No clever ideas here. I use a row of 5 gallon buckets up against the wall. After a while the buckets get over full and collapse into a jumbled heap. I add to the heap for another month or so then it's time for a trip to the scrap yard. New buckets, nice and organized for a little while, repeat cycle.
I do a little better with sheet metal rems, have a piece of plate on the floor with rows of vertical pipe welded to it so there are lots of slots for different sizes.
