How many light fixtures?

Ok guys I plan on going with T8 lights. The first section of my garage is 24' deep by 22 wide with 9ft ceilings. I plan on running 4 rows of lights. My question is should I run two 8ft fixtures evenly space from front to back or two 8ft fixtures and one 4' fixture connected together? Also I have a 13ft wide by 24' deep section where the lift will go. Will two rows of lights configured in one of the two ways mentioned above work? Or should I go with three? I want enough light but don't want to spend unnecessary money since this project has gone over budget.

My garage is 22' x 36'. I run 48 4' T8 lamps (2 4 lamp 8' fixtures back to back x 6).These are spaced lengthwise across the 22' and as evenly as possible across the 36' (biggest gap is across the full opening above the lift). The fixtures are wired to break up the garage into 6 quadrants. I need only turn on the lights in the area I'm working in. That saves energy and bulb life.

I have 6 8ft tandem fixtures (4x4ft t8 in each) so 24 bulbs total.. I think it's plenty of light.. But I will be adding two lights over my work bench once it's complete as the ceiling lights will be behind me.

I have in my current 2 car garage 2 double 8' T12 and it lights it up real decent but in my new shop I am putting 9 double 4' T8, I think that will be sufficient.
