How practical are these BradConnectivity Cord sets?

I spotted these on CL, I've made a few into 6 foot extension cords in the past. I found some and added plugs, not sure how practical this is cost wise?​

They've got a strange female connector, so unless you already have the males, pass on them.

I'm guessing his intention was to cut that connector off. The price per foot for the cord is good but you have to need 6' lengths. The price for plugs and connectors can add up also.

I like having some short cords around. I have a couple #16 12'ers, very handy.

Do you have a use for the special female end of these cables? I have a pump motor that uses this special plug/socket. And the corresponding cord set is expensive. It is weatherproof.

I'd only use the cord itself, the ones I have are at least 10'. Correct 6' cords are not as useful.
