I bought a used KRL 7023 andI want to clean the drawer slides on my KRL 7023. They are a little "crunchy". I have no problem getting the drawers out, but I can't figure out how to get the drawer slides out of the box itself. I had a classic 78 and they just pryed out. I asked my Snap-On dealer and he said he thinks all you have to do is pull staight up and they will come loose in the front then just pull them out. I pulled up on a few of them but they didn't come loose. I don't want to really pull on them and mess them up. I don't see any screws that hold them. Am I just not seeing the screws or just not pulling hard enough? What's the deal here??? :lol_hitti

Remove all the drawers on the whole bank.
Starting at the uppermost slide use a small lady foot prybar or a right angle screwdriver and slightly pry out the top front of the slide.
With your other hand extend the slide out a few inches and smack the bottom with your palm.
Slide will disengage from cab and remove in forward motion.

Very new or replacement slides will have a sheetmetal screw for retention also.

Have the same is KRL7023, hav black tabs you pull back to release drawer, still seems not so easy to pull it all the way out smoothly. Got them out in any case except the drawers are jamming up on something on the slides when put back in, the bearings will go all the way in but the drawer itself will not go completely in. Its past the point of the black plastic tab, its hitting something else and i cannot see what it is. Seems maybe the bearings have to be kept in a certain postion. This is frustrating.
I am also trying to move a slide thats on the INSIDE of the box to another position. Prying on it seems useless. It looks like it has 3 tabs hooked on the box itself (2 vertical and 1 horizontal) I don't wanna F*CK this box up . PLEASE HELP !!!!

Here's how I did it:

To anyone that cares, here's how I removed the slides:

1) Extend fully (pull the drawers out until it hits the stops).
2) Take note of the grey plastic levers on the slides, flick them up/down depending on the Left or Right slide. After doing so, pull the drawer out completely (you may want someone to help you with wider/deeper drawers).
3) To take the bearing member off of the cabinet, take a plastic trim tool and wedge the member out from the top at the circled location - there is a detent on the member which clicks into a slot on the cabinet.
4) Take a deadblow/mallet and rap the slide from the bottom sharply, or use a prybar if there is an adjacent slide on the bottom and pry the member loose.
5) To take the slide member off of the drawers, take your trim tool and wedge it from the bottom this time (at the same location as step 3, use a mallet to drive it in if necessary). Take your deadblow and give the top of the slide a sharp rap and it should come off.

There's a front bayonet, a rear bayonet, and then there's a claw you can't see. Run a credit card between and the inside wall and the slide and you'll be able to find the claw that way. There's a special pry bar used to pry the claw away from the inside wall. The part # is SPP837. That pry bar goes on either side of the claw to disconnect it from the inside wall. That inside wall is thin gauge steel and will bend very easy. The special tool is about $8 from Snap-on and your box cost significantly more than that I believe.
