I've been lurking for a short bit, looks like lots of good info here about various things in the shop. Lots of nice shops on here and it's good to see others enjoying their spaces. I have a 20 x 24 shop that I built myself from the slab up. It's attached to an older 16x20 open building that is slowly getting repaired. I have some pics that are Polaroids from the build in 1997. I need to get those scanned so I can have permanent copies.

I had to go take some fresh pics - the shots I had didn't do justice to the current level of stuff crammed in the building. The wife's race car is in getting an 8 point roll bar tacked in - assuming I ever get it done. We both have race cars and race regularly here: http://abilenedragstrip.com
We also do the web site for the track and shoot the pics.

Just got a new compressor so I'll be updating the master compressor thread. There's a story to go with it LOL. I'm trying to figure out the best way to plumb the thing into my existing piping.

The shop is schedued to grow a bit - I can add 7 x 24' to the building. When we did a re-fi a few years ago, we had to pay for a survey. The survey showed that we had 8' more on the alley side and that the house was on the neighbors property and nobody's fence was where we all thought they should be. We got all that fixed (read - massive paperwork and more surveys) so I can have a bit more space. After the kitchen rework is finished. She said.

Glad to met you folks, hope to contribute to the board.

Edit - I'm happy with every square inch and never forget what I started with. 1/2 of a two car, rent house, 1975

Hey Chris welcome!! That's a badasss looking car you've got et up for the wife! What are the details on it? And if that's hers what are you racing? What's sitting up on the trailer? Sorry for all the questions but we're a nosey bunch when it comes to cars, tools and garages!

Oops - forgot to come check this thread!

Her's is a 70 Mustang, 400HP 351C 2V engine, C4, 3500 stall, 4.56 gears, 28-10.5x15 MT slicks. Weighs about 2970. Runs 7.80s on our local 1.8 mile track and has been as quick as 7.53 at lower altitude. It's getting a roll bar - and has been for about 5 months. She runs in Modified (foot brake class) - same as me and has finished as high as 2nd in points. When she get's dialed in, she goes rounds. Too much stuff going on this year. I'm getting heat from the guys on not having her running yet. Seems like everything takes 3x as long to do this year - putting in an upgraded compressor, on my 3rd week getting the iron lines in and STILL have one leak left to fix.

Mine is a 67 Falcon 4 door (on the trailer), about 3047 lbs, 480 HP 351C-4V, C4, 4600 stall, same gear and tires. Runs mid/high 7.30s in the heat, best of 7.19.

I do all the work on the cars except heavy machine work - built the engines, trans work, rear ends, etc. I did the paint on the Falcon and if you get close enough, you can tell.

Thanks for the welcome!
