Yeah, I've never quite been able to visualize the layout inside...

What I really like about it is that there is an empty lot next door and my house would sit pretty much where you see the house in behind in that picture above.

I'd have to do a lot to hide it from the neighbourhood and there was some good thought put into how this garage is positioned and how the landscaping is laid out.

c'mon lotto....

I have seen that on a few forums. It is a nice garage but I am not too crazy over the layout of it for some reason.

I agree. It seems they veered from the form-follows-function approach that I favor (is this why I've had a particular affinity for German cars over the years? ;) ), but you have got to give them high marks for material choices and style!

I thought about posting with regards to how you built it up from a smaller garage, but I didn't know all of the details...

There's no doubt that everyone will want to lay out their garage in a way that suits their own needs and purposes.

I like the concept of what you built. I would need to have things a little different to suit my car (in future it will be cars.)

I think the trickest part of the whole setup is how it's situated on the lot and how it's hidden from the road.

ultgar glad to see you here , the garage looks great. Is it complety finshed now or are you still improving it. As for the layout it of your garage it's not my first choice either but I do see the logic in your design by having seperate bays for seperate functions. I really like the landscaping and the fact that all garage activites are hidden from street view.

ultgar , I do apologize for any hard feels I may have caused at Autopia. I think I may have portrayed my thoughts in negative manner but they where not intended that way. Honestly your garages are not of this world , they are out of this world. Put it this way I think a Bentley Arnage is out of this world , its a great car but I'd never own one even if I could afford it , but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the shear beauty and craftsmanship of such a fine work of art. That's how I view your garage , not what I would own, but I certainly do appreciate the elegance of it. Hopefully you can except my aplology and we can both enjoy this new site together.

Apology accepted....if we ever get through this winter, I'll invite some of the local (NJ/NY) list members over for a tech session on garages. Maybe we can run a car or two on the dyno. SD

Ultgar,

I was unable to get the second page of the "subter" project to open. Could you fix the link? I am excited to check it out.
