I got this LED fixture in Restore. Obviously used. I want hook a plug onto it. I’ve got blue, maybe red, and yellow with a green stripe.

I’m not familiar with this color scheme.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

  • Blue Wire: In many international wiring standards (including those commonly used in China), blue is typically the neutral wire. This corresponds to the white wire in the USA system.
  • Reddish Wire: A reddish (or red) wire usually indicates the live or hot wire, which carries the current. This corresponds to the black wire in the USA system.
  • Yellow-Green Wire: A yellow-green striped wire is almost universally used as the ground wire for safety. This matches the green or bare copper ground wire in the USA system.

Excellent. Thanks!. And I am showing continuity with the case on the yellow wire with the green stripe.

I remember looking this up the first time I worked on some European equipment and saw those colors.

I thought at the time if the light blue, which reminded me of the united nations flag was chosen that way as "neutral"
