My first cordless impact gun was a 3/8 Snap On 14.4 maybe 20 years ago. Game changer for me. I always assume they were just toys and up to that time, I think most were. I shortly added the 1/2 Snappy.
It didn’t take long for the SO to get passed up by the M18 big gun and I jumped to them then in the last two years I got into the newest big M18. As with many of my purchases, I sell the last ones to help pay for the next ones and selling the previous gen M18 Fuel is one of the few times I’ve regretted the flip. My current M18s, two 2767s, have been a bit of a let down.
Power is fine by modern standards but I wish I still had my previous two impacts for comparison as I don’t think I gained anything. I bought a top handle 1” for truck tires and really big stuff so that’s not a major issue but the final straw for these new 1/2 guns is the placement of the power select button. At least every other time I use the guns, if not every time, I manage to bump the settings from max to whatever the finger tight setting is.
This week I’ve come across two Hercules big 1/2 guns for $80-$90 each and that’s enough for me to give a try. I’ll probably list the Milwaukee impacts no matter how the Hercs do but I’m interested to see how close they can get to not disappointing me.
