Importing a vintage car from Canada

I'm not sure where else to inquire and thought maybe someone here might know. I'm in Canada and have a vintage car I want to sell on Bring A Trailer or on eBay. It's also highly modified and built as a replica factory race car. I have no idea what to do now with the serious trade war Trump has created. Will there be a 50% tariff, massive duties or other charges? Or brokerage fees? Would I have to list where all the non-original parts were made? I don't want to have to deal with any of that either and want someone to just come and pick it up (we're next to the border.) Selling anything into the US has been such a PITA for a while now. I'd like to reclaim the space in our garage.

2) You're 6 posts in, so someone (hopefully) will give you some grace, but "political" posts are not tolerated there.. Like zero tolerance. I know you're asking pragmatic questions, but you'll have to take the [unnamed political figure] out of it.. Even then, discussing current policy probably won't fly... Unfortunately. As someone that had a business "importing" parts, I can tell you that the questions you are asking were basically impossible to figure out and changed dynamically for the shipping duration of parts by boat, major impact on costs.

Might see how other BAT auctions, if you can restrict to seller location have been advertised. I suspect (but didn't check) that age of the vehicle plays as well as destination state.

Personally, I'd advertise it on BAT and be very descriptive that it's in Canada and make all those problems the problems of the buyer. Might detail if you have e EPA Form 3520-1 and DOT Form HS-7. If someone wants it bad enough, they'll jump through the hoops!

+1. All of this is the buyer's problem and they pay the duties. If I were you, I would wait for a bit as all of this will blow over soon. ...like it always does.

That might end up being what I end up doing. It's so difficult selling anything into the US now. The brokerage paperwork and requirements are so onerous. They want the manufacturer of auto parts and country of origin marked on parts which is often not on parts. I hope this doesn't get taken as political, I'm just trying to explain what we are having to deal with north of the border and am trying to figure out what to do.

Both the Canada and US customs websites have information on bringing cars in and out of each country, although I understand the concern. I don't think the tariffs will affect an individual selling a used car, but I'm just an anonymous person on the Internet... it's probably best to call your customs agency to find out if anything has changed.
