Why is it that the doors to a Bathroom stall at airports are held together by these, torx, or any other modern fastener while the door and other parts of the plane I just got off of was mostly philips.

Clearly we're not using technology properly.

how come the lock holding the door closed is always broke and someone opens it while going number 2.

My company sells and installs washroom accessories and partitions, you would be amazed at the amount of vandalism that goes on in public restrooms. That being said everything had gone to tamper resistant torx, one way and snake eyes are seen in remodels.
We just finished a job hanging 300 doors in a mental hospital where every exposed fastener was tamper resistant torx or hex.

I have recently seen tamper resistant nuts on the doors of Wabash trailers.

These nuts are cone shaped, with 3 grooves in them.

These are easily removed with an antenna nut socket of the appropriate size.

A lot of the arcade games we have at my work use those. My games are covered in regular and tamper resistant torx and Allen heads. I think the theory from the manufacturers is to reduce the likelihood of random people cracking into the games to mess with stuff.
