Installing a drain in a suspended slab

Hello,

I have been searching around and trying to find a way to install a drain on top of a suspended slab. I haven't been very succesful as all of the drains I have found are over 3" deep. I'm also wondering if I could embed a 2x4 or even a 2x2 in the concrete while it is being poured and then remove it after the concrete has cured a little? If I did this I would create a hole underneath it where I could install a pipe. Just not so sure this is a very bright idea....thoughts?

I'm looking for some ideas on what I can use when installing a drain on top of a suspended slab. The concrete topping will slope 6" down to about 3" where the drain will be so it would need to be less then 3" thick. Looking for ideas and or products that can be used.

You can also use PVC pipe or Styrofoam

Get a PVC bell drain with built in grate and cast it in place at time of pour. Septic
tank and precast companies also have various cast in place rubber and plastic aids to
get a water proof seal. Look in the yellow pages and find a couple of precast septic tank
suppliers and call. They may be willing to give you some input. If the area underneath is
going to be used, the last thing you want is a water issue below.
