I am building a 30x50 pole barn and the contractor is using insulating with a foil, bubble, vinyl roll insulation. He claims it is a R-13. It seems really thin to do a good job. I am planning on heat and air in the shop. We don't get really cold winters here in Ms, but it is in the 100's in July and August. How good is this stuff?

Do you have a brand name or a manufacturer? Plenty of internet sites to look up an "R" value if you have some realative info. on the productin question.

Take a look at the following link. They mostly are discussing it for use under a radiant heated floor, but there is a lot of information there refuting the claims of the bubble foil manufacturers.

Best of luck. I used 4" thick foam to insulate my pole structure. It works great for me in the hot Michigan summer. The garage is always 10-20 degrees cooler than the outside air temp in the summer.
