I want to insulate my 16 x 16 shed. I have seen some conflicting things on how to insulate it. I just installed a 240 V heater to heat it and have a AC for the summer. Shed has two windows. I live in downstate New York. The shed has soffits and I believe a ridge vent. I was going to use r13 faced Batts of insulation for the walls with the paper facing inward toward the inside of the shed. I dont have to put anything on the exposed plywood before i put the insulation up do i? One question I had is because there is an opening to the loft, Can I insulate the ceiling from the bottom where there are joists and leave the opening to the loft? The is plywood on the top of the loft for storage, so i cant put insulation there. Or do I have to close the loft. Also what should I do above the loft. Should I insulate the ceiling? If so how? I was thinking of using the soffit baffles, but do i actually put insulation in on the underside of the roof? Sorry for all the questions but want to make sure i am doing this right and thanks for any help!
