ok guys here's one for you. I have an Ingersoll Rand T30 253 that I bought new back in 1988. still runs fine. I just pick up a brand new t-30 2475. I need to use one and sell the other . what one do I keep ?

Seems like you may have already made the decision when you decided to buy the updated model :dunno:

Keep the 2475. The 253 will be hard to get parts for when it shits the bed and since it still runs I’d dump it. It’s the perfect time to get rid of it. The 2475 may run for another 100yrs but the 2475 is definitely an upgrade.

Which one has the slower motor speed?
I run a 2475 with a 2hp motor pullied down. It sounds like an old John Deere 2cyl 😂

I also have a 25hp IR head running on a 7.5hp motor that is pullied way down. They are very quiet and will last a loooooooong time running so slowly. The volume of air I use they’re both perfect and produce more than I need when I need it.

Keep the 253. Rebuild parts are dirt cheap should the need arise.

The minimum rpm of the 2475 is already higher than the max rpm of the 253. Sounds like the usual IR practice of moving a small pump up a horsepower class by revving the hell out of it.
