If you need a good utility knife blade, I highly recommend the new bi-metal Blue Blade from Irwin. I cut a lot of cardboard at work, and this baby just keeps going and going. It seems to stay sharp almost forever. I was going through a LOT of other blades, even the good USA-made ones, but not anymore. It is the Blue Blade for me from now on.

I've got a pack of those that I haven't used yet because the Irwin Blue Blades just won't die.

I saw an ad in JLC or FHB the other day that Stanley has started making application specific ( can only remember carpet and drywall) utility blades that are supposed to stay sharper longer. Don't know how they hold up though.

Well, I read this review, ordered some free blades, and went out and got a new Irwin Protouch Retractable Blade Knife, which comes with six of the bi-metal blue blades. VERY NICE! Under $20 CDN, too.

I've got two of those that I use all the time. You'll like that knife. Comfortable grip, toolless blade change, onboard blade storage.

Yep, actually used it for the first time today at work, it's NICE!

Guess the blade is the most important part of the tool as long as the handle is ergonomic (read - comfortable) who cares where it comes from I guess..
