is 2" too thin

I am helping my buddy with his steel garage build and the concrete guys followed the engineers plan for the 1st pour which are the perimeter walls and the crossers to tie the side walls together. At both entrances the wall has a 2" step down for the 14' door. The concrete guys said they would taper down the 4" thick main floor 2" at the door openings to meet the front and back entrance walls but I would rather have the floor flat all the way to the outside of the wall. My question is when we install the reinforcing wire mesh can we extend it to outside the wall say about 1ft and then when they pour the floor have it run all the way outside 2" thick? How do we prepare the floor that was poured last month to have the 2" top adhere without cracking later on? Thanks.

Can you take a picture of the plans and upload the detail of the area you are speaking about? I think I understand but do not want to post an answer unless I see the detail.

2" sounds a bit thin, but there are plenty of 'experts' here with concrete.

Thanks, I am waiting for Ross to email me pic's. I tried to include the dwg from Pioneer but it is too big. It is easier for me to envision it as it is in my mind than to explain. I will respond when I get the pic's.

Here is a pic from the front. You can see the raised portion on both sides of the door opening. The raised section will be about 1" below the floor and the opening will now be 3" below the floor. There will be a spacer all around the inside wall to isolate the floating floor from the 1st pour. So it looks like the cement over the wall will be about 3" thick now. Make sense? Thanks, Henry.
