So in the passed when my boyfriend and i aruged I would feel like I need to buy him a tool, just to forgive me. Is it bad? LOL. I feel guilty inside that I just need to buy him a tool to get over it. I just bought something on ebay for him this last week because we were fighting and it was my fault and i felt bad. Would you want a girlfriend who was like that?

If I were not already married, I would be sending you my phone number! Just joking:bounce:

In all seriousness, many of my fights with my wife have centered on buying tools. I would love for her to apologize and hand me a new tool or set of tools. As long as she maintains my brand loyalty.:pimpflash

Without knowing what the augments are about it is hard to comment. In general you are paying him to like you and replacing the emotional exchange in making up with a tool.

Hey, we ALL have our unique, personalized ways of ironing out differences. If he goes for that, then so be it. And you can have your preferred prize!

Her husband just took off his shirt and is looking for you.....

I can think of other ways to show you're sorry.

What does he do for you when he's in the wrong?

He's probably never been wrong yet as he's still collecting tools.

Next time he starts an argument, drop him for another boyfriend and see what he buys you :bounce:

Seems no different than if a guy felt guilty over something he did, & then bought flowers or a piece of jewelry, so I don't see any problem. However, if he knows your pattern & he's setting you up by secretly instigating something that he knows will piss you off in hopes of you starting a fight for adding more tools to his collection, than he's the tool....LOL

As posted above, in 35 years ,I have never been right. The only thing better than this is for you to buy him a new tool AND have "make-up" ***! This guy has got to love you.

no amount of gift giving would make-up for someone continually starting fights with me. if we couldn't work it out, i'd tell you to stop buying me stuff and put the money toward a therapist.

also of concern, are you sure it's really your fault? you seem thoughtful otherwise.

Nah, I buy him tools all the time to keep him happy after we get into fights. Him being myself, because I'm single :headscrat

Gets me a lot of nice tools though! :bounce:

I'm still not sure the OP is a woman. Will withhold comments.

I may agree. Although it is insanely hard to believe and hell may have just frozen over, i don't know one woman, or in-fact ever heard of one admitt they were wrong especially after fighting with a significant other. If it is true then you are a jem and he should be buying you tools... or at least handing his to you much more often.:thumbup:

that might explain some things. the gay couple on "modern family" is always fighting and apologizing and it seems to work for them. :)

I can say when i know it is my fault. He should be handing his tools to me. I told him a long time ago that if we ever got married, the only think I want is his toolbox with all the tools if we split as I know it would piss him off and hurt him lol! Cause he sure loves his tools.

IMHO, if youre fighting enough to see a pattern in what happens before, during, or after it, then you really need to look around for someone else to be in a relatiionship with.

There will come a time when the tools do not overcome the aggravation.
Quit fighting with him, and save the tool gifts for b'days and holidays.
