Just picked up this used compressor from the local classified section and seeing if you guys could tell me anything about it or point me in the right direction to find specs on it.

the compressor is a Jacuzzi Brothers mounted on an IR T30 tank with another brand 220 volt single phase motor on it. Below are some pictures of it.

Thanks

Hello, have you found out anything more about your Jacuzzi Brothers pumps? We have two of the exact same pumps tied together pressurizing our sprinkler system. They've been here forever it seems. I'd love to get some info to rebuild the heads as it takes forever for them to come up to pressure. Also want to know the best oil for them. I know the Jaccuzi Brothers sold out to Regal Air Compressors and they have since gone out of business. Any info you have would be appreciated.

I realize this is several years out of date, but perhaps this info will help others with a Jacuzzi compressor. I've attached some pages from a brochure I recently came by about Jacuzzi compressors. This appears to be for splash oiled models. I think the one I have has a pressurized oil system because it has an air line going to the crankcase like the one in the photos of the previous post.

This provides specs for the various Jacuzzi pumps.

These seem to be well made pumps. Does anyone know where there might be any parts available for them?

Hello, first time posting anything, so hope I am doing this right. I believe I have this same compressor and now when it shuts off, it leaks air out of one of the exhaust filters? Anyone have any ideas?

No parts available for Jacuzzi pumps, sorry. As far as oil goes I would use ISO #32 hydraulic oil. Stay away from motor oils, they have too many additives in them. You can find the oil at a farm store or hydraulic repair shop. For my money synthetic oil is a waste.
Jacuzzi compressors were good machines in their day.

There shouldn't be any pressure in the cylinders after the compressor shuts off. If it's leaking back through, it means your unloader valve is not working. I had to replace that valve on my compressor shortly after I bought it. This was the one that fit mine:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007GDXXRQ/?tag=atomicindus08-20

My compressor doesn't shut off when the tank gets to full pressure. The motor continues to run but the valves in the pump are held open by pneumatic actuators so there is no air flowing and almost no load on the motor. The compressor just spins free until the tank pressure drops, then it starts compressing again. If your compressor shuts off when full, this valve may not be the one you need.

It does shut off when its full, but then it slowly leaks out through the air filter until it starts up again. I do think I will try that valve tho. Thanks

Hey guys, I found this site searching for info for my jacuzzi Bros compressor. That brochure is great.

Macfacts:

Does your compressor have a checkvalve after the two cylinders T together and before the air enters the tank? I ripped the crappy plumbing from mine and put new plumbing on like this:

Compressor heads--------------->Tee fitting (tapped for unloader valve)--------->Checkvalve--------------->Tank

Here's some pics of mine:

$50 bucks on craigslist. Kinda rough shape but ran good. Guy had the motor wired for 115 with romex!

After stripping and re-painting with with industrial epoxy paint, new swagelok plumbing, re-wired motor and pressure switch:

I think it says 3317C for the model

First post here on the message board. Just trying to put together a machine hobby shop. Found a Jacuzzi brothers single cylinder compressor from what looks like the 70s or 80s. It looks to be in decent shape. Motor shuts off after ten seconds old owner stated. Before I get in too deep, does anyone have a parts diagram. I saw the three page cut sheet. Any thoughts? And any old stock parts anywhere in the US? I'll post pictures when I muscle it out of my car. Thanks.

Don't know where you are located, but an inoperable single cyl. compressor probably isn't worth the effort. Even if you get it working, it won't have enough capacity to do any real work. At least around here, CL is loaded with more capable compressors.

Manuals wanted (or copies). Looking for both the original owner's and part's manuals (actually they were only a couple pages each) for my vintage Jacuzzi Brothers model 331 twin cylinder single stage strip valve (reed) air compressor. It appears to be just like the ones others have posted here.
...While I can function without the manuals, they were useful references. (My home shop was burglarized and they even took my box of manuals, including the ones for my (now vintage) Jacuzzi. I still don't know why they didn't take the compressor...maybe the lathe took up all the room they had.) The only thing I know is that it is model SP6ZCH331 P/A , serial 3G7117784, 150psi max., 9.5cfm @ 1300rpm, with the recommended pilot set at 120 psi. I'm no longer sure of the year, maybe late 60's or early 70's? If you can help please reply even if this thread gets old. Thanks.

omegablu: I am new to this board, but I have been viewing here for a while. Today I acquired another Jacuzzi air compressor and got the original manual, warranty, and parts list with it (April 1966). I can send you copies.

Hi, I have a Jacuzzi 331 compressor and am looking for a manual. Is that the model number of your compressor? If so, would you share the manual? Thanks.

Hi,

First time poster here, thanks y'all for sharing your expertise and documents!

I have a 1964 Kargard compressor with Jacuzzi 331 pump (2-cyl., single stage). Currently I'm overhauling it and trying to understand how it's all working, like the original 'Penn Model 1000' pressure switch with unloader. Just did an oil change on the pump, man, there was a lot of silt at the bottom of the pump.

@jacuzziville: I'd love to see the manual, warranty and parts list you have for your compressor, would you please share the documents?

Thanks!

I too have a vintage Jacuzzi 331 - 2 cylinder compressor. I don't have a need for constant pressure/flow so I retrofitted with a pressure switch to shut off at pressure. If you are able, please email me the manuals & diagrams to [email protected]. thanks!

Your post was a few years ago. Was wondering if I could get a copy of jacuzzi brothers manuals and parts list?

2 years later and i am posting to ask how i check the oil level on this model of compressor? i unscrewed both the large oil chamber square fittings and was able to see lots of oil down below, and it looks clean, but neither fitting has a dipstick on it so no idea if its at the right level. thanks in advance
