It might not be rubber. The silicone ones last longer. That’s better than a plastic cap held in place with a rubber O ring.

That's all I've bought for several years. Got tired of needing 6 for 1 from a new bag of LolingDongs or whatever. Snap apart like they were out roasting in the sun for 20 years.Probably ain't a Thomas & Betts "Ty-Rap" either chump.
Aren't most plugs "friction fit" I mean threads on a pipe plug work because of the high friction yes?Issues or not, that's an objectively terrible design - the worst I've ever seen for an oil drain. I'm with the OP, Deere or Kohler or whoever needs to do better than that. A friction fit plastic plug???
Don’t bring logic and truths into this argument!Aren't most plugs "friction fit" I mean threads on a pipe plug work because of the high friction yes?
You are getting subjectively and objectively mixed up.Issues or not, that's an objectively terrible design - the worst I've ever seen for an oil drain. I'm with the OP, Deere or Kohler or whoever needs to do better than that. A friction fit plastic plug???
It cost me a new $600 mower when I didn’t routinely change the oil in my mower. I didn’t think it worth it to put on a new engine versus a new mower. Sorry, but I don’t use the cheap Walmart mowers.Y’all actually change the oil in your lawn mowers?
