My cheap small $40 vacuum pump from lowes died.. the seals in the pump went, so I ordered the Mightvac with a gift card I had for Amazon.

I particularly like the dispense function to empty the thing. Real question is if it comes with the brake bleed kit, and it people that own it think it's worth the $100..

I've used my 7201 for four oil changes with no issues. Works very well. It came with 2 different size diameter tubes, have to use the wider one for oil changes, maybe the smaller for bleeding brakes?

I think they make an "attachment" for brakes, but don't know if it comes with it. Guess not if you don't have it.. think it was like $40 for a HOSE, so no thanks if that's the deal..

Do you have the handheld mityvac pump? It comes with a couple brake bleeding end pieces that you should be able to adapt to a hose to work with your 7201. Who knows the ends might just slide right on the smaller hose for your machine. I don't use my handheld mityvac pump for bleeding brakes so don't even know what size hose the adapters use. It's 400 miles away from me too. But if you have one you can try and see.

The 7201 is good for engine and trans extraction.
There are much better choices for brake bleeding......like the metal hand held.mity vac

Not sure about the brake bleed 'kit' but a short length of hose that fits tightly over the bleed ****** should do the trick.

I've never had the 7201 but every MightyVac product I've used over the years crapped out in pretty short order (same as your Lowes vacuum pump, seals kept going bad, frustrating leaks were common in my experience).

Now I use either a Vacula (no longer made) or a Motive pressure bleeder and have been content with those.

I hope yours lasts longer than my MV products did.

I use 7201 to change engine oil. Then I use it on my diesel engine.
You have to be careful with the hose.

When it's filled with black diesel oil, you don't want it to slingshot out some place where you'll have a hard to clean up.

Later I use it mainly for brake bleeding, and revert to old style of changing engine oil.

And still other choices. I prefer to pressure bleed from the master cylinder rather than vacuum bleed. It avoids all those common problems with air leaks at the bleed screw. Even with manual bleeding you can draw back air at a loose screw. With pressure bleed, the pressure is constant so nothing can back up. I am sure the Mighyvac has plenty of good uses but I like my Motive pressure bleeder for brakes. It has plenty of GJ fans.

Agree on brake bleeding vacuum, pressure, reverse injection or pedal pumping all have their place and all depend on some techniques, knowledge and skill level.

I have a Mityvac 8500 pressure/vacuum hand pump with gauge, hoses & adapters. I use it for small engine pressure/vacuum testing, carburetor testing etc. For the few times a month I use it, its served me well for nearly 5 years now. Money well spent IME. The 8500 kit is an industry known and accepted kit of choice for small engine repair. Some OEM's use them as a factory supplied tool. You can buy service kits to replace seal and parts that wear over time. But I have no experience with their other products.
