Kennedy lock cylinder

Are they avail? Someone had evidently lost the key ( which I did find when cleaning the box ) removed the cylinder portion, stuck some sort of paste in the hole along with a bolt to jury rig a way of locking the box.

If the cylinder is the same as mine, they're fairly common. I got one from a lock shop. You also can contact Kennedy. They sell replacement parts.

quicker just to take it to a real lock smith, not a big box store. They will either replace the lock or make you a key.

Kennedy wants a ton for their locks and keys.

It's essentially a file cabinet lock. Your lock was probably made by the Chicago Lock Company which was bought out by CompX Security Products. There should be a key code on the lock. Any good locksmith should be able to cut a couple of keys for it. I had keys made for an older Kennedy a year or so ago. The locksmith that I do business with had key blanks that were stamped "Chicago Lock".
