So I am going all in on some organizer ideas. Was going to do DeWalt / Harbour freight style ones that I have seen people make racks for. I liked the idea but as I was checking out prices I noticed this style.

And for size I can fit them better in the upper storage area I will be building over my work bench (as they are not as deep). Looking at getting 10-12 of them so I can get things sorted right from the get go.

Any one use this style? How do you like it? Any issues?

I think the reason most go for the HF is because they can be had so cheaply. That Keter is 30$. You're looking at over 300$ just to get the boxes with no rack to hold them. That seems a little expensive to me. The bins that most people use from HF are only 9$ before coupon right now.

Also have you been watching the Amazon Warehouse Deals thread in the Hot Deals subforum? Some guys just got these:

For like 100$. Parts bins and cabinets come up from time to time in there for very reasonable prices.

All that said, I'm sure the Keter is a much nicer box.

I have the Home Depot one. Been using it for about five years now. It's well made and packs a lot of stuff in a small space.

Both the Home Depot boxes were recently on sale for $18 and some change. I bought one of each to use on the farm. The cantilever box is an tool box with storage in the top section and the bottom is open. The organizer is actually a storage center and is about 1/2 the height of the tool box. Both are OK, but not great. The clear top that covers the storage trays only locks in place when either box is full closed and latched. I've heard they break easily in cold weather, but I don't consider that an issue for my use. Both will easily sit on a shelf and I think they are stackable. I also have 8 of the Harbor Freight bins and at $5.99 they are also good for my needs. I am building a rack system for them, but it won't be as elaborate as some on this site. WalMart also carries Keter products and I'm sure they have the same boxes branded as HyperTough or Master Force.
