Hey,
Looking for input from all the Klimaire users out there.....reliability, how long you've had it, opinions on performance, etc......

I see they are relatively new, as a company, and can't seem to locate many "reviews". They do have very nice pricing.....

Thanks,
Todd

Let me start with this is only my opinion....

I'd be careful. I bought a "Bonaire" a couple years ago, and it looks identical to the Klimaire (right down to the owners manual). Bonaire is now gone, my evaporator coil is leaking, and I can't get parts (let alone any warranty). I emailed Klimaire three times since they look like the same unit (inquiring about buying parts) and got no response. Bottom line, I'm stuck, and while this is supposedly a different company, there are an awful lot of similarities...based in South FL, "wordwide distribution", as I said identical remote, identical manuals. The $1100 I paid is kind of expensive for only 2 yrs of heat and a/c.

On the positive side, it did work quite well when it was working. I'll definitely replace it with another mini-split.

Having 2 klimaire's I haven't had any issues yet, I bought them about 2 years ago. I never dealt with them through email, but I purchased them directly from the manufacture and just called them on the phone, they answered all my technical questions, and were still helpful a couple months later when I was actually getting around to do the install and had some more questions and also needed to order an extra part from them.

Other than the actual orginal real deal Mr. Slim most of the other internet brands you see are the same rebranded products in different housings. When I opened the cover on my outdoor units they had Toshiba Compressors in them same as alot of the others I've seen state to have..

I was set on going Mr. Slim at the time of build but needing two 2 ton systems I wasn't ready to drop $12,000+ for the Mr. Slims, I could do full ducted heat pumps systems for less than that.

At about $1200 each I hoped to get some years out of them and having two identical units if things go bad and no parts I can bastardize two into one and then figure out what to do at that point.

I am a firm beleiver in 'you get what you pay for' but $10,000 more was quite the difference and I could replace the klimaire entire unit 8 times over the years and not spend that much money, so I chose to take the risk.

All good so far, knock on wood...
