Knipex Cobra Dimple

So I was looking at my Craftsman branded Knipex Corbra pliers and noticed that there is a dimple cast into the head. Any idea why this is done?

Is there useful purpose that is eluding me?

My guess is it is for a locating pin used by the die press. Probably put there by one of the first operations, to assist in a later one.
