Regularly 9.99 each.

This has been the "New Lower Price" for a while now. I remember buying both sets in early February of this year for the same price. Its still a great value no matter what.

1/4 set is $5
3/8 set is $10
1/2 set is $15

I'm still holding out for a similar price reduction on the deep socket sets.

How is the quality of this? I am not looking for indestructible sockets, just good enough.

I don't have any high end brands to compare them to but they will be fine for diy use. Maybe some pro use also. You will probably never have any issues with them. Quality wise they are in line with the rest in this segment (Husky, Craftsman, Stanley, and Pittsburgh Pro).

Size and look wise they almost look like they came out of the same factory as Pittsburgh Pro sockets. Even Kobalt ratchets are very similar to Pittsburgh Pro ratchets....

It might be cheaper and faster to just buy a socket to replace the damaged or missing socket because Kobalt will charge you shipping for the replacement socket.

https://www.socketsforlife.com/how_it_works

If you ever lose a socket from your Kobalt set simply call 1.888.3KOBALT and follow the "Sockets For Life" prompts. Be prepared to provide the following information:

Name
Mailing Address
Socket set or item #
Payment information for shipping charge

Shipping and handling charges do apply for each socket ordered through a "Sockets For Life" claim. Shipping and handling charge is per socket. You will be asked to provide credit card payment information before your order can be completed. The shipping & handling charges are as follows:

$4.95 - 1/4" drive, 3/8" drive and 1/2" drive sockets
$5.95 - Impact sockets
$6.95 - 3/4" drive sockets
$5.00 - Additional charge for each shipment to Canada

Once your credit card transaction is complete an order will be created and your socket will be shipped direct to you.

Yeah, "sockets for life" is a joke. It's cheaper to buy one from the store than to pay shipping for your "free" socket.

Thanks for posting the "Sockets for life" info.

I wondered how the program works. $5+ to replace them means that I would be unlikely to ever use it. That saved me the time of registering my sockets.

$5-$7 is cheap for 1/2" drive deepwell, impact, or 3/4" drive sockets.

And the replacement would match your set and be new.
