Just wondering if anyone has this and what your thoughts are on it.

Thanks.

I don't have it, but I looked at it pretty hard when I was in the market. Ended up with the Bench Dog ProTop (40-001) and I couldn't be happier. It is a little more expensive, but having the cabinet is extremely handy.

That said, I've been happy with the Kreg tools that I've purchased. I wish they were a little more aggressive with sales, though.

Good luck!

I have it. I like it. I think I have an older model and they are the same except whatever the one difference is.

However big you think it is, it's a little bit bigger so wherever you plan to store it, it won't fit. Mine sits on the floor, and actually gets run on the floor most of the time. I'm not very tall, but you'd have to be 7ft tall to use this on a counter height bench.

you will need featherboards since it comes with none. How many? No matter the router table, the answer is the same; more. Depending how tall a piece you rout you could approach your cost for the table, with your cost of the featherboards if you buy them from kreg. The HF ones aren't perfect, but I am dealing with them.

Something on that table needs proprietary sized toilet bolts. I forget what specifically, I think it's one of the channels on the fence. Nearly every other router table uses carriage bolts so if you have featherboards or other accessories like anti kickback rollers, from another table you might not be able to work with this one without buying new hardware from kreg.

Originally I bought mine from Lowes when they clearanced it out, and planned to only use the top & fence and build my own cabinet type table. Hasn't happened yet and I needed to assemble it to rout something. The dust collection isn't strong enough with just a shop vac to pull as much as half of the dust.if the bottom were enclosed that would help a lot, and a good hood type attachment plus a stronger suction probably could get you to a much more acceptable point.

The insert is the right size if you wanted to buy a Jessem lift, I had no issue with mounting my Dewalt router to it so I assume it should take any of the common ones out there. I haven't tried the Bosch ones on it and the big PC is waiting for the Jessem lift before I install it in any table.

I tried to cover all the bases here but if you have any other questions let me know. It's not a tool I use all the time, but with a router table it's 99% setup so I have played and tweaked it plenty.

Thanks all. I've thought about the Bench Dog too. Also thought about just getting a top and mounting it on my ShopSmith - that makes the most sense space-wise.

No shortage of featherboards so I'm good there.

Prices for these little tables just blow my mind. But, then again, prices for the tops (Rockler) are way up there too.

Right now, I have an MDF top (doubled 3/4") that I made and it has a layer of melamine for the surface. I have a metal plate that functions as a router holder. It works OK, but I would like something a bit more permanent and nicer.

buy a jessem style lift to upgrade your router holder. Best money you can spend on router related anything, other than a good fence. The lift comes with a template, hand rout the place for the insert to sit, corner blocks for leveling, and your existing table is now so much better than the rockler or kreg. you already have a flat surface, so long as you're satisfied with the flatness you don't need to change that part of it.

Kinda with cheechi here. There isnt much to a router table, and there is a plethora of accessory kits out there now.

Invest in the lift, and build your own with integrated t-slots and DIY fence.

If not, dont invest in the platform style of the KREG. Seems like its to tall for tabletop, and too short for floor? Just buy the top surface and build to suit.
