Laser Fixed Sewer Jetter Nozzle Question

I have some clogs in my 4 inch irrigation lines. Minimal flow after a rain. I have four total in the back yard. One of the drains is connected to my pool equipment and is primarily used as a back wash for my DE filter.

I'm considering buying one of these and hooking it up to my pressure washer in the hopes that it will flush out the drains. Anyone have any recommendations or do's or don'ts? Don't want to tear up the drains but I need to try to get them unclogged.

Go rent a water powered snake unless you plan on having a lot of clog issues there's no point in buying one IMO.

I've got four drains and I see the problem reoccurring in the future. Would a powered snake tear up the plastic irrigation pipe?

Odds are that your pressure washer does not have the GPM to be used as a jetter. If I were you, i'd rent one or have a plumber come in and do it.

Maybe go buy a small piece of the pipe you are looking to use it on and give
it a good spray test first?

I have a 50ft sewer jet line with the nozzle like that. I use it with my electric 1400psi, 1.5GPM @ 1.5HP and it can barely pull it self inward. I would go rent a 2000psi, 2gpm+ PW with the sewer jet line and I know it works.

I wouldn't mess around with plumber's snake, it's likely to tear up those corrugated drain pipes.

Re: Home Depot Clearance Thread 2015

I've also got a 4" line that I think is clogged and have been considering one of those also. I believe you have to get the hose that goes with it. They don't connect directly to the end of your pressure hose.

Can anyone confirm? And what psi would be required to run one of these? I have gas powered that I believe is 2700

We used one of these at the shop to clean out the 4 inch pipes connecting our floor drains. It uses it's own hose which is smaller diameter, lighter, and more flexable than the standard pressure washer hose. It works okay, not great. Once the main blockage is gone it works pretty good.

The nozzle has to be matched to the volume (gallons per min.) and pressure of your pressure washer. On a straight run most hose will work but for more and tighter elbows the proper flusher hose is needed. Flushing hose has more of a plastic outer coating to reducer friction in the pipe and usually come in 50 foot lengths and longer. WE have machines in our fleet all the way from 1.4 gallon at 1500 psi to 85 gallon per min. at 1000 psi.:)

There made for plastic pipe, its just water doing the cleaning so nothing can get damaged unless the pipe is no good to start with. There like $60 for the day here and for something you don't use all the time renting would be easier as in you'll never have to work on it every time you want to use it.

Listen to these guys.....the pro jetter operator will have better tools (nozzles) to fit the work to get it done fast / easy.

The bigger the jetter you can get in there, the more flow and better cleaning action. 4" line will take up to a jetter with a 1/2 hose (usually around 13 to 18 GPM at 4000PSI), but for short runs, you can use 1/4 or 3/8 with lower flow - it'll just take a little longer to do the work.
