So I recently got the ******** hammer 2.0 with this leather collar to help protect it from possible overstrikes yet no matter what I do it slides and even using hot water on the leather only makes it stop sliding without extensive effort for about an hour or until it dries.
Was hoping someone knows a way to stop the collar from sliding

Never done this, but my thoughts.

Drop of hide glue on each side of the handle near the head, slide the leather back up? Couple more drops at the away end, snuck under the leather? I would not put any on the striking face side.

Hide glue is reversible with hot water or steam, unlike most woodworking glued, so easy to remove later if you don't like it

How would it do against cold water like hail or rain?

It looks like you have some extra length on the lacing. So. I suggest that you wrap the wrap the lacing around the handle to act as a stop. Wet the lacing prior to doing this to help the knot to lock in better. This is similar to Skyman's suggestion but uses the lacing instead of a cable tie.

Leather Collar

What does the manufacturer suggest, since they designed this thing to fit on the hammer?

Barge contact cement is a staple of shoe repair shops. Unwrap the collar, coat the neck and the leather and press together. It's very strong yet flexible.

They recommended the hot water trick and tightening it after it was wet but i tried it twice and once it dries it slides

What knot do you recommend?

My $.02, I'd have sent it back at that point and told them I'm not going to spend my time attempting to make their product fit on their own hammers.

The hot water trick works better/ best with some added alcohol. The alcohol helps breaking the natural water barrier of the leather. Water can then penetrate deeper into the leather.

Leather will need some maintenance/care after the procedure. Try at your own risk.

I’ve done that to shrink & form knife sheaths.

Kind regards,
Olli

I'd try a zip-tie as a stop, just below that collar.

Plan A is a mix of your ideas
zip ties around upper and lower section of collar
with 2 more underneath it and the one underneath the collar above the lowest zip tie has the laces wrapped around it with a knot below the lowest zip tie

Hopefully Hammer Holster on my tool belt doesn't cause it to loosen or swelling ends up causing damage
will find out tomorrow at work

Week one it seemed to work so far could spin and slide it around with extreme effort but after that it seemed to stay
