I am redoing lighting in my garage. 30' deep x 24' wide, 10' ceiling. 10' deep x 24' wide mezzanine in the back, half underneath that is a separate room and half is open to the rest of the garage. 16' door centered on the front 24' wall.
I'm thinking in the main 20' deep x 24' wide open section to use 4 rows (running front to back) of 4 two tube strip lights, equally spaced across the width of the garage. Spacing will be 2' off the front wall and 2' off where the mezzanine begins. So a total of 16 two tube fixtures in this area.
For the 10'x12' open room under the mezzanine I'm thinking 2 rows of 2 two tube tube LED strip lights, running across the 12' width of this room and set 2' off each side wall. These will be perpendicular to the lights on the main ceiling. A total of 4 fixtures in this area.
I'd like to put the 16 main lights on two switches. One switch for each side of all strips, to give an evenly distributed half or full brightness. Same for the 4 fixtures in the smaller area under the mezzanine.
I wonder about single vs double ended LED tubes. I see here and other places a general consensus that double ended is superior and may become the standard. I don't see many fixtures listed as prewired for direct LED double ended tubes. Should I go one way or the other? Does it matter?
I'm also not sure what single or double ended fixtures come prewired with more than just a jumper between left and right keystones. It would be nice to not have to rewire all the fixtures. Anyone know of am off the two tube strip that comes prewired for a quick setup to have each tube on a separate switch?
