Hello all,
New to the forum. Been lurking a while though. Lots of good info.
Got a new Craftsman catalog this weekend and saw a LED trouble light in it. It came in a rechargable or a corded version. Anyone used one of these? How is the light output?
Thanks for your input!

I bought the cordless version last week while it was on sale. It was normally $39 on sale for $19.99, so for the money I thought it was worth a try. I haven't tried it out in a real world scenario yet, but just turning it on you can see that it is very bright. I like the fact that it is tapered to make it easier to fit into tight spaces. The manual says that the rechargeable batteries are not replaceable so I guess it is kind of a disposable tool.

I bought the rechargable version before Xmas, also paying $20. I have used it a few times and really like it. It seems to have long battery life and the shape and size allow it to get into tight places. I was looking at my furnace heat exchanger recently and it was much better than a flashlight for this purpose and it is quite bright. One of the more useful recent tool purchases. I'd recommend it.

I got one last summer for my birthday. I'd recommend it for the price. It's biggest pluses are the aforementioned ability to fit into small places and it's lack of heat production. On the down side, it is difficult to lay it down and have it stay in one position.

I just posted a review on one a few days ago.My light is a Bluepoint rechargable 30 LED that's very simular to a Freedom Light. After 2 days of use for about 4 hours at a time,I am ready to throw out my corded flourescent. While the LED isn't as bright as a flourescent or incandescent,it's still enough light to work with.
MSRP on the Bluepoint is $119,but the Freedom Light is online for about $75.

I bought the corded version and really like it. It doesn't put out as much light as an incandescent light, but it is brighter. I like the idea of not having to replace light bulbs. It is a little hard in some situations to keep the light pointed in the right direction. I got the cman for $15.

I've got one of those. I prefer my standard trouble light, though. The LEDs don't illuminate a whole area light an incandescent bulb.
