I'm thinking of getting a new Snap-on or a Matco tool/service carts for some more storage and to wheel around the garage or out into the driveway when needed. I want to get one of the nicer ones with the drawers obviously, not one of the cheaper ones with just the shelves.

Can you guys post some pics and give some suggestions on what you store in yours ?.

Thanks,
Ed

The black matco 4 drawers carts MSC4 are great but when i did a lot of heavy line works, i use more tools and bearing slides are overload and little bent... but it still work great..

i decided to bought a used MSC12 as i almost wear the MSC4 out when casters are bad...

MSC12's casters are GREAT!!! it is bigger than MSC4 and the drawers hold twice weight than my MSC4...

My MSC12 will go back to service shop when i find a job while MSC4 are stay in my garage as my harley special tools storage in MSC4...

This is mine I put on another thread a couple of weeks ago. The cart is modified with leg extensions, two side trays, an extra drawer. I built a riser over the top shelf that I can lay tools on and still access the shelf underneath. I just clamp the tool wraps to the top lid of the cart which makes things pretty handy. The cart is a SO (Blue Point) KRBC3TC and I got the mod parts from www.autobarn.com.

I use to keep all my high use stuff on mine but I recently started getting paranoid about someone breaking into the shop. It would be alot easier to pick up one of those carts and steal it then my roll away.

how'd you get it for FREE?

Explained below

Yeah, what ****** favors did you have to perform to get that for free?! :lol_hitti
:lol_hitti No ****** favors needed.
He asked $350 on CL. I went looked at it and it quickly went to $300. I asked what else he had and he said he had a non running 91 Nissan Stanza. Looked at the car and asked what he wanted for it. He said $300, but give me $500 for both and I'll tow it to your house for you.

Needless to say, the car needed an alternator that I got for $50 and I charged the battery. Sold the car for $600 and that's how I goit the box for FREE

Door lids from washing machines, a piece of plywood, a tray of some kind and a couple sheet metal screws to hold it together. I needed a cart pronto, took about half an hour to dream up and find the parts.

I am so jealous of that blue mac cart, I have been lusting after it for a couple of years now, I would pay 350 in a heartbeat, probably more, even if it was the wrong color, but that one IS the right color. YOU ****!!!! :bounce:

Thanks. I was lusting for it too but didn't let on. He was in serious need for cash because the deal kept getting better the more silent I became. :bounce:

you ****, AND kick ***!! I like the way that cart is set up even more than the newer macsimizer cart. I currently have a MB1350 Macsimizer and matching three drawer service cart with the "tackle box" shelves in the top compartment. my cart is overloaded with my most used tools and I really need to upgrade to a cart EXACTLY like yours. then I can put all my electrical junk in my old service cart.

Here are some pics of my tool cart. It’s a modified Harbor Freight three shelf cart. I added the Craftsman 4 drawer mid box sitting on some angle Iron supports. Also reinforced the bottom tray with ¾ plywood drilled and supporting a new set of wider wheels. I had a Matco two drawer with a flip open top that I sold off. I found it too large for my tight space garage and I wanted a top work surface. The HF cart I had picked up on the cheap is only 16 in wide and the CMan mid box was orphaned out of my set-up in a recent garage re-org. I keep a set of tools that use the most on board and so far it’s worked out pretty good.

Any of the Snappy carts made in the USA? I'd love to find one with three drawers and a workspace on top. But I'm also thinking of making one.

Never mind: found a nice Snappy on the site for $765 made in Canada. Nice. Also, I like the Classic 60, not a cart, but a nice little rolling cab. Can't afford it though. If I could, I'd rather buy, for the same price, a chest that fit on my 78. And then build a cart for the chest.

If I had mad skills in sheet metal and my own brake, I'd make drawers for one of my custom carts, which if I do say so myself, given my cache of American steel square tubing, 3/8" plate, and wicked welding skills, kick ***. :pimpflash:

Damn,I wish I still had my Snap on cordless impact like the one shown in your cart.I bought it when they first came out and the original battery last till 2 yrs ago when the power inverter in my service truck screwed up and melted the charger and battery.Must have gotten 10 or more years out of that thing.Replaced it with a 18v ryobi piece of ****,no where near the power of that old 9.6v snappy.

Rickster: Great idea. I have a cman that needs to be more mobile and I am hunting large chest boxes right now. To be able to put the cman into duty with a cheap modified roll around cart will save me some money.

it is like a little box more than a cart but I got it for more storage not a cart but it rolls nice.

The Blue Point are Sunex right? My SO driver offers both the BP version and what he claims is the OEM, Sunex. I have no reason not to believe him. I think one of the cheaper SO carts is also Sunex.

They look nice for light/medium duty. I've been on the look out for a deal on a used one, and there seem to be an awful lot of CL, but guys want almost what they paid for them. And they keep getting relisted every week.

Rickster,

Where did you get the side shelf that holds the aerosol cans? Also what material are you using for shelf lining?

ive got the same cart coming, minus the side shelf/spray can holder, ill need to add htose, and a power strip too, that way my battery powered stuff can have its chargers laid out nicely on the bottom.

I cannot wait to pick this thing up saturday.

Also quick question can you lift that blue point cart up empty by yourself, like to get it out of the back of a truck?
