Still planning to convert 2 car garage to a room. Just under 20' x 24' to ICF stem walls. 2 existing floor drains. I need to measure more accurately but 6' level suggests only 5/16" drop from perimeter to drain.
I thought about radiant in an over pour (https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/radiant-flooring.515445/) but has to be more expensive by a lot. So back to original plan of poly, shimmed sleepers, 1 1/2" foam between sleepers, subfloor, and flooring BUT I am exploring eliminating sleepers and just a layer of 2" foam, and double layer of ply or OSB on top, but not sure if worth leveling or how to.
I don't think self leveling is very diy friendly or I expensive. Read of using a basic sand mix - mortar - and screeds and trowel. I wonder if just sand would be OK. And is this the one place that dry pour might be a good solution. It's so thin and virtually no wear.
Double ply or sleepers and single ply seem to be around $2/sf for materials. I liked the continuous 2" foam versus the 1 1/2" between sleepers but maybe doesn't matter or easier to add a layer of something under finished floor. (Thinking hardwood strip flooring.)
