I know its not garage related. Is there any reason I couldn't put a light above my shower stall? Its not a closed shower it has a curtain. There is a fixture in the bathroom now but its not on the ceiling but above the sink. Maybe I am weird but its just to dark in the shower.

I did the same thing i just took the power from my fan so when the fan is on the light in the shower is on the can light has a glass cover with a rubber seal that goes against the ceiling.

I have one in my bathroom. It's been there for as long as we've owned our house.

It's hard to explain, but it's sort of like a can light inset into the ceiling that uses a regular 60 watt bulb. Only instead of being exposed, there's a glass and metal "cover" with a cork gasket that presses right up to the ceiling to keep the moisture from getting in.

yes, as long as you use a light rated for the application such as a recessed can with a shower trim. needs gfci protection if the manufacturers instructions say so

Yeah like stated they have fixtures rated for the location. My old house had one in the shower and it was fine, was a surface mount not recessed, and had a globe with a gasket that sealed it to the base to keep water out.

Just had one put in my parents house. Ceiling power vent with a built in light. If you go that way, just make sure you route the vent hose out to the edge of the soffit and not just laying above in attic space. I think I paid $40 for the vent/light combo at Menards

As said before, read manufacturers instructions, if used above a shower/ tub, many fans do require & reccessed cans may require GFCI protection.
