Light issues

tried searching diddnt really find an answer, basically i put up two new lights in my garage 8 foot t8 HO, when turned on they only barely light up at one end, what did i do wrong?

Check your sockets against the wiring diagram,sounds like one got switched from side to side,or a wire popped out of one of them.

Hard to say with out more info/pics. Are these new or used? Are the muti tap ballasts?

HO? How about posting pictures of the whole fixture channel showing how it was wired, if you don't mind But another question is how were the lampholders installed when assembling the fixture? It has been a long time since have dealt w/ a T8 HO & the wiring diagram is fuzzy in my head.

well the fixture came prewired as far as ballasts to lampholder with just the white and black wires for power remaining undone, lampholders just slid into place at the ends. tried switching one of the ends with no beneficial result.

What temp are you starting them up in?

well i found the problem after pulling the ballasts the lights are 277volt lights so 110 wont power them, since i cant return them im going to sell i guess and go to lowes or something.

you can replace the ballasts with 120v ones

They are worth what ever scrapmetal price is, not a penny more. 277V fixtures are worthless.

arent ballasts going to be a whole lot cheaper than new fixtures? Plus if theyre already mounted......

you will have a very hard time selling a 277v fixture, since any place using 277v lighting isnt going to be buying used fixtures.

T8HO's are weird, I don't think I've ever even came across one.

Weird=more expensive. I bet ballasts/lamps are pricey and harder to find. Now is the perfect time to switch to a more common fixture type, like something that uses standard T8 lamps.
