Lighting a very small workshop

I am building a 7x8 room in my basement to store my reloading equipment, a workbench and my safe. Walls will be painted a light grey, ceiling is 7.5' and not reflective. There will be no natural light.

I want to make sure it is bright enough for cleaning guns and reloading, but don't know what that FC number is. 100fc @30"?

I have been looking at single, 4' integrated LED fixtures from Forest https://www.homelectrical.com/t8-led-integrated-lamp-5000k-4-feet.fll-t8n450.1.html

Since the space is so small and the ceilings are low, i was thinking that single "bulb" fixtures spread out would be better than a couple 2 bulb fixtures.

So maybe four on the ceiling plus something above the bench (under cabinet or a lamp)? What do you think?

I wouldn't overthink it. To note, you can get a twin tube Feit fixture 42W for almost the same price on CostCo sales....its gotta be about double the light.

I would get 3 or 4 fixtures and see what happens. Double tube over the bench. Can always augument later on.

For a space that small I'd attack it a little differently.

You probably know where your loading/work bench is going to be located. If that's the case, I'd do some simple/general overhead lighting and then add some additional task lighting above your workbench. Light where you need it and less shadows.
