lighting question in very small shop

Ok, this shop has been put on the back burner so many times its not funny. But now, all 10 outlet boxes are in and half is drywalled. Now trying to figure out lighting the room. There will be workbenches down both sides, and the room is only 12' x 11.5'. So just under 144square feet. I have some halogen desk lights for close up work and such but for the main room lighting I'm thinking about led flush mounts in pot's, or the newer ones that just go in J-boxes. So at $72 for 4 then the pots, under 120 invested and 27 lumens per sq ft? or should there be 6?
I hate fluorescence lights, bother my eyes and have since I was a kid. I don't mid bright lights but something about flo just irritates. That and I don't want anything hanging from the ceiling. Its 7'8" so a bit low. I have regular flo hangers in the 1 car garage that is attached to the workshop. Thats also getting a full renovation as soon as I get this done, and a heated area to put my tools.

But its a 3k light range. so maybe 6 of them? trying to decide what to put in the ceiling, j-boxes or pots before the drywall goes up

I don't think one of those would be enough? That would be less than 10 lumens a sq ft? I may go and pick one up today to try in the room and see. Worst is I take it back. That or get a couple more. I do want this room bright as I work on Dirt bikes, have several KTM's and a GasGas I'm rebuilding. This is the project room.

I just put up a smaller one of those in a 10 X 10 UT room and I was really surpried how much light it gave off. I believe the one I used was 1100LU so that is only 11LU per sqft. It was also listed as 3600K but seemed whiter than that to the eye. There is a bigger LED fixture than the one I linked too but it may not be carried in the store.

I don't see where that fixture was mentioned. Anyway, I never thought about it but when a fixture list the lumens, is it per meter or sqft. The ones I linked to just say 1400LU and 2400LU without any reference to area. Is the standard a sq meter?

Edit: Duh, that was a dumb brain freeze question. The output lumens of the fixture does not have any correlation to area in the rating in the way I was thinking. Never mind.

To me, flush means flush. Those that mount to a j-box are not flush.
Some of these hang down 4" . Are you saying that that's OK?
If so, there are some really great LED strips that are only 2.75" deep that would be much better than these fixtures.....
You can get a Philips Fluxstream EZ or similar fixtures that are 4' long, 4000 lumens, under $100 each, in a couple different CCT colors, and are less than 3" from flush.

I'd rather have flush to be honest. I was looking at a few of the mentioned above at the store. The 4' led tubes did put out a decent amount of light. But the cost for 4. It be nicer if those tubes were in a square so placing them in a square room would be more pleasing to the eye. They had a nice round 3800k 1400 lumen almost flush for $27. Those placed in a 6' box pattern would light up well? That be 5600 lumens at near daylight. 140sq that be 40 lumens per sq ft? That's not too bad. I still have the center of the ceiling light box as well which I was going to save for one of those low profile ceiling fans in a cage but if for some reason that's not enough light I could always put a 5th one in the middle, which would bring it to 70 per ft? I think that would be way overkill. As the single 80w replacement led that's 5k daylight working all by itself lights the room rather well. Just not enough. I'm getting a dimmer switch just in case.
